my Sanctuary

welcome

Welcome to my sanctuary. This is a place for me to share the ups and downs of my life as a mother, woman, friend, and subbie. To revel in the triumphs and work through the difficult parts, but to always be me...the good...the bad...and the playful.

I Am Safe in the Universe, and ALL Life Loves and Supports Me

I breathe in the fullness and richness of Life. I observe with joy as Life abundantly supports me and supplies me with more good than I can imagine. ~Louise L. Hay

Today was one of those days where I could feel the abundance of life around me.  The positive energy was infectious.  I could feel the world bringing me everything that I needed.  And wow, did I need energy!  I am back to doing my walks which I enjoy greatly.  They bring me in tune with myself and the world around me.  Oddly, it’s my quiet time.  It’s the time that I take for myself to re-center and get in touch with the world around me.

I need that time to sort out things.  It’s this time that I use to gather up the strength to get myself through the day.  Sometimes, one of my kids walks with me.  When it’s my oldest we talk of issues he may be having at school and how to be a better citizen and person.  The differences between good friends and bad, and other life lessons.  He makes me so proud.  When it’s the youngest well, I just cant help but laugh at his antics.  He is a force unto himself and thank god there is only one of him in the world.  But He amazes me everyday.

It’s on these walks that I see just how blessed my life really is.  I have all that I need and there is a richness that surrounds me.  I have the love of friends and family *granted my family is just my boys*, but I couldn’t ask for a better one.  I still long for someone to share parts of my life with, but it’s a true sharing of life that I want.  To be a part of their life as they are a part of mine.  I don’t do exclusion well.  Actually, it’s very detrimental to me…I am sure it comes from my past and how I was raised, as I was always separated from the family in one fashion or another.  I got to watch while others lived and it kills me to do that anymore.

I know there is greatness within me, still waiting for the right person to help work with me to direct it.  One day that will happen, but until then I shall enjoy every moment that life brings me.

I Am Truly Blessed

I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such supportive friends.  All of you amaze me every day, thank you for being so wonderful.  I was so nervous starting the slave bell project, but I have gotten so much support it’s almost overwhelming.  I am truly grateful for all of your support.  Having worked on a bazillion projects, I know how hard it is to get them off the ground…and so far the bells have made and explosion.

My life and outlook has changed so much over the last month and a half.  I have friends that say that they are inspired by me, which I find extremely humbling.  They admire my courage with going out and doing the bells…and have asked how I did it.  They have tried things so often and have failed.  I told them, that I’ve had so many projects fail that they are too numerous to mention, but I keep on trying.  I don’t give up easily.  I like to take action and forge ahead.  Really, I have no choice…it’s do or die and I’ve never really ever been one to NOT take action.  If I see a problem, I want to fix it.  I want to take action to fix it.  **this caused me nothing but anguish as a slave though**

I love life.  I love to laugh and play.  *popcorn fights and all*  I love to be with people. I love people.  I love to snuggle and flop on people.  I’m a very loving person and very open.  I love having people come to my house for coffee, dinner, watching a movie and everyone just piled on the couch together.  I love a good debate.  Basically, I just love life and I love LIVING it.  I’m really not much of a sidelines person, although I don’t mind being in the background as long as I’m involved WITH people.  I don’t do well alone.  I know that.  I do best surrounded by supportive people.  They bring out the best in me, as I want to make them happy.  I want them to be proud of me, and I always do my best to do that.

I wouldn’t be where I am now, without YOU though, and I thank you so much for being who you are…my friends, thank you for accepting this silly girl into your lives.

Blessing In The Small Ways

Well, today has been interesting to say the least.  I feel like I got smacked in the face by someone close to me, but well, I guess I’m not all that surprised.  Shit happens and such is life…just another lesson learned.  Of course should I turn around and do the same I would be called childish and immature…amazing how that works.  I have noticed changes that I don’t like…it’s a growing darkness that I have seen overtake them…a slow poison.  Try as I might, I was unable to show the darkness and it may be time to let another one go.  Negativity is a sneaky thing…it can creep up on you when you least expect it.

On other fronts, life is going well.  Surprisingly well in fact, I have gotten a very positive response from the pictures of the slave bells that I have put out.  And from the people that I have talked to about them, hopefully soon I will have them up for sale here.  I got a surprise check in the mail today.  Seems that the government messed up for once in my favor, and I had overpaid something and they sent me the back pay of it.  Woo hoo!! That was a very nice surprise indeed.  It’s not a lot, but for me it doesn’t take a lot to make a big difference.

Positive things keep happening in my life lately.  Although there are certainly areas that I would like to still work on, life is looking up and I’m excited for what the future holds.  Oh and another little annoying but ultimately good thing, youngest found his glasses, of course that’s after I had already paid $50 for a new pair.  *hits self on the forehead* However, as he is young and rough and tumble, having an extra pair can only be a good thing.
It’s the blessings in the small things.

Ah A Lovely Rainy Day...NOT!

Wow, did this day go by fast. I feel like I just woke up and here it is already evening time.  I suppose it’s because I had a relatively busy day.  I had to take the monsterchyld to the doctor today and sure enough he has bronchitis.  It’s raining here and I don’t know if it was just that or not but I almost got squished by two vehicles that decided they wanted my lane AT the same time…idiots.  I’m glad I was paying attention because they sure as hell weren’t.  They didn’t even have turn signals on.  They are luck I don’t have better insurance or I would have just let them hit me.  Okay, maybe not, but the thought crossed my mind.

Thanks to our lovely government not sending out checks when they are suppose to, I wasn’t able to order my supplies.  I am a tad bummed about that but the check should be here tomorrow.  The mailman said that no one got their check.  So I must have some patience, yes I know it’s not my strong point but alas I must acquire some.

I did get my walk in, 2 miles.  I feel good about that and when the boys get to bed I’ll head over to the fitness center here at the complex and do some work with weights.  I feel that I’m on track with my exercise and even what I’ve been eating or rather not eating.  I’m hoping that I can continue with this positive trend.

I’m so ready for an intense playdate!!! It’s a craving and need that damn near borders on unbearable.  Shesh, I thought just being horny was bad, at least then, I could use a vibe and get off.  But well, beating myself just is NOT the same.  Just thinking about it and my ass, back, and cunt start tingling.  *sighs* but it doesn’t look like an intense session is in the cards for now.  But damn, I really need/want one.  Okay, need to start thinking of something else the bits are getting really tingly.

Well, it’s another day done and another one is to come.  I’m still moving forward, learning and growing and that’s always a good thing.

Radiate Serenity and Peace

Radiate Serenity and Peace~Radiate an energy of serenity and peace so that you have an uplifting effect on those you come into contact with. Your presence will make others feel calm and assured. ~Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

This is something that I wholeheartedly agree with.  It is one of the things that I work on in my daily life. Trying to maintain and aura of serenity and peace is a challenge, and some days it’s easier to maintain than others.  However, I believe that peace in mind brings peace in the body.

I really believe it’s important to maintain that serenity and peace within the home.  It helps bring comfort not only to yourself but to others as well, and is especially important when children are in the mix, and even more of a challenge then.  A home should be a refuge from the outside stresses of the world.  It should be a sanctuary for the mind and soul.

Bringing that serenity and peace to the home builds a foundation of comfort and trust to the home.  A place where ideas and concerns are freely discussed and dealt with, before harboring tensions can tear it down.  That foundation only grows stronger as the positive feelings and emotions increase.

It’s not easy, as we all have a tendency to want to defend or lash out from time to time.  It seems to be that our general nature is to be confrontational.  We feel that if we aren’t standing up for something we are nothing more than a doormat for others.  But, I think it’s important to look at what the real goal is for any confrontation.  Will it ultimately increase the serenity of the mind, or is it nothing more than conflict for the sake of conflict.  Sometimes, it’s best to let something go simply because the ultimate result is not peace of mind…but conflict merely to prove one is right..in an argument where there is no right.

A Day In The Life

Oh what a day. i was so warm and cozy in my bed that i truly did not want to get out of bed this morning. Alas, the oldest must get ready for school.  Open the door to the bedroom and what do i find but the door to the hamster cage open, and sure enough, one of the hamster has gotten loose.  And so the day begins with the hamster great escape part 2.

So we start getting the oldest ready for school; not an easy task as it's his hamster that's on the loose.  i'm trying to get the youngest to start cleaning up the room so i can move furniture to find the little rodent.  Even on a good day, it usually takes the youngest 2 to 3 days to finally clean his room getting him to clean it today was going to be a monumental task. However, getting the room clean is a must; the little escapee must be found before the great furry hunters find it...ie, the cats.

Well, with about half the room clean; i went and looked in the closet as that's where the little fuzzball was the first time, and sure enough there was the little bugger. After about 4 minutes of chasing the little sucker around it was finally secured in its cage once again. And the youngest continued to clean his room, under the threat of no lunch until it was done.

While, he was working on that, i got the kitchen clean, clothes in the wash, wrote a blog post, and completed my 2 mile walk. Yep, that's right folks, i'm up to walking 2 miles a day now.  i SO rock.

For a good part of the day, i worked on my blog.  my prior blog template was having some major issues with people not being able to leave comments.  It was very annoying as well, i like having comments....So that just wouldnt do at all.  It took a few hours of messing around until i got it the way i like it, and i think i like it even better than the one that i had.

This evening was spent celebrating my oldest son's report card.  He got to pick dinner, chicken and french fries, and we had ice cream for dessert, Fudge Tracks. My son did so well on his report card, 16 outstandings and 12 satisfactories, but i think the part that i'm most proud of was in the teacher's comments.  His teacher said that she could always count on my son to make the right choices.  For me, i thought that was the highest compliment that a kid could get.

i may have completely failed as my Master's slave; but i am a good mother, and when all is said and done, i think that's more important anyway.

Getting It All Together

Another day, and another step closer to having things together.  Challenges were faced today, and i refused to take the bait. Instead i decided to cede the ground as well, it wasnt worth fighting for.  i have no need and or desire to fight over cyber turf.  At some point i may set something up again, but right now that looks doubtful.

i'm enjoying my life, with good friends, great laughs, and great love. My kids truly are the love of my life and i couldnt imagine not having them in it.   Why would i want to? They will always be a great blessing in my life. Today, i got to celebrate the great success that my oldest had in his report card.  He truly is brilliant.  Takes after his momma, dont you know! My youngest is disabled, although dont even think that that's going to stop him for a second.  He amazes me everyday.  He has this amazing nack of wrapping his little fingers around everyone he sees.  Affectionately, i call him my monstercyld, because he is quicker than quick, persistent, and when he sets a goal for himself...he will reach it. My boys amaze me everyday, and i cant wait to see the men that they will one day become.

i have continued with my walks, 13 days in a row, and i have been able to keep up with the laundry.  Not only washed, but folded and put away.  The dishes have been getting done, and put away as well.  Step by step things are falling into place.

A Chilly Walk And Lessons Learned

Okay, i just want to know who said it could be winter in Florida; it's flippin COLD! Just last week, i was still using the AC and now i have to use the heater at night or wake up as a popsicle.  That mile walk this morning was FREEZING, but well worth the walk. It was very funny as i went out to walk with my oldest this morning and he didnt want to wear his heavy coat..and put on a light one...about 10 seconds outdoors killed that idea and he ran back into the house for his warm one.  We had a lovely walk this morning though, laughing and joking as we walked around and saw our breath as we went. It's easy to feel that all is right with the world when you can hear those you love laugh with you.  **Sometimes even at you**

i am so proud of my oldest though.  He is learning some tough lessons about friendship and people now, and he is doing so well.  My son is younger than most of the kids that he plays with here, and because of he want to 'fit in', he has a tendency to get picked on a lot; much more than i would like.  The couple of kids that are closer to his age, are little hooligans that i wont let him play with; they are delinquents in the making. My son is a good kid; somehow, that is one area where i was blessed.  My son tends to be the last resort kid.  When no one else is outside to play with, the kids show up here and knock on the door to see if he will come out to play, but when there is someone else he gets excluded quickly.  Part of it is because he is younger, and the other part is because he doesnt do what he knows he will get into trouble for.  Bless him, but he has the internal strength to say NO, i cant.  He has been called a momma's boy, and replied that at least his momma cares enough that he isnt doing things he shouldnt.  **that and he says that being grounded to the house is no fun**

Watching the way that my son gets treated is no fun for me.  I would love to go out there and stick up for him; however, it's something that he needs to learn on his own. So while i dont like the way that they treat him, i continue to allow him to play with them, but i talk to my son about how he is treated.  He likes to play with them, because there really is no one else to play with or be friends with, so we have discussed that sometimes having no friends is better than having friends that just make you feel bad.  We have been talking about this for awhile now; that he deserves to be treated better by his friends and that maybe he should think about his friendships.

Well, yesterday, my son came in after playing outside, and i could tell something was up.  So after asking him what was wrong.  He told me one of his friends feels like he HAS to play with him, so he just came in.  Now, this is one of the kids that comes and knocks on our door 4 to 5 times a DAY if my oldest isnt already outside playing cause he doesnt want to be outside by himself. Well, my son, bless him, said that he didnt need to play outside with friends like that anymore; and that he didnt like it, and won't play with the other kid until he apologizes for treating him badly.  WAY TO GO SON!! My son really really looks up to this kid, and i am SO proud that he is standing up for himself.  He is going to turn into a wonderful man someday.

Oddly, my sons struggles parallel my own from time to time, and this is one of them.  It took awhile but i'm standing up for myself and how people treat me.  Sometimes, a momma can even learn a lesson from her son.
